This policy explains what information Tark collects when you visit tark.finance, request a demo or use the Tark platform, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. In this policy, “Tark”, “we” and “us” mean [Tark legal entity].
1. Information we collect
We collect information in four ways.
- Information you give us. Your name, work email, firm and role, and anything you tell us in a demo request, a support message or a call.
- Information created when you use the platform. Sign-ins and failed sign-ins, API keys you create and revoke, books and lineups you save, records you generate and exports you make. Your account’s activity log shows these events.
- Files you upload. Holdings files and plan lineup documents you ask us to review.
- Technical information. IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and similar log data, including cookies or similar technologies that keep you signed in.
2. Public filing data
The record is built from public SEC and DOL filings and public LP reports. Some of these documents name individuals, such as a fund’s officers or a plan’s administrator. We process that information because it appears in the public record, and we use it only to show where a figure came from.
3. How we use information
- To provide the platform, including sign-in, the activity log and the records, books and lineups you ask for.
- To respond to demo requests and support messages, and to send service and account notices.
- To keep the platform secure, prevent misuse and enforce our terms.
- To understand how features are used and to improve them.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
4. How we share information
- With service providers that host our infrastructure, store files, authenticate users or send email for us. They may use the information only to provide those services.
- With professional advisers, and with authorities when the law requires it or when needed to protect the rights and safety of our users, the public or Tark.
- With a buyer or successor if Tark is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. This policy continues to apply to the information.
- When you export a record or share it with others, you decide who receives it.
5. Data retention
We keep account information while your account is open and afterward for as long as needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Files you upload stay until you delete them or close your account, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
6. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to how we process it, and to receive a copy of it. You can opt out of marketing email at any time with the unsubscribe link. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We respond within the time the law requires and will not treat you differently for making a request.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss or disclosure. API keys are read-only, shown once when created and stored only as SHA-256 hashes. Every sign-in, key and export is logged to your account. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s privacy
Tark is built for professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the “Last updated” date above, and we give additional notice of material changes by email or in the product.
