Questions users ask.
Is Tark an investment adviser?
No. Tark produces the record of a decision the fiduciary makes. It does not approve, recommend or select any investment.
Does using Tark put us in the safe harbor?
No tool can do that for you. The proposed rule sets out six factors for the plan fiduciary to weigh and document. Tark documents what the committee weighed and the sources behind it.
Where does the data come from?
Public filings and reports: SEC filings such as N-PORT, N-CEN, N-CSR, 10-K, 8-K, Form ADV and Form D, the DOL’s Form 5500 file, and — public LP reports. Each value names its source.
Can a record leave out our plan’s name?
Yes. A record can name the plan for your own files, or be anonymized to a reference label with its sponsor, EIN and filing identifier withheld.
Can we pull records into our own systems?
Yes. A read-only API key reads the same figures and sources the web app shows, at up to 20 requests a second. Keys cannot write, and only a SHA-256 of each key is stored.
How is our activity kept?
Every sign-in, key, saved book or lineup, generated record and export is listed in your account’s activity log, which you can export.
What does it cost?
Pricing depends on the size of your team, inquire further with our sales team after a demo and onboarding.
